Preseason Screenings at Girl Fit Physical Therapy
A Preseason Screening is a proactive, performance-focused service designed to help athletes prepare for an upcoming season by identifying injury risk factors before training and competition begin.
Preseason Screenings are offered as a specialized type of Wellness Visit and are ideal for athletes who want to start their season strong, confident, and prepared.
What is a Preseason Screening?
A Preseason Screening is a 45-minute individualized evaluation performed by a physical therapist to assess movement quality, strength, and readiness for sport.
The goal is to identify limitations, asymmetries, or movement patterns that may increase injury risk or limit performance once the season starts.
What We Assess
Depending on the athlete and sport, a preseason screening may include evaluation of:
- Functional strength and power
- Mobility and flexibility
- Balance and neuromuscular control
- Core and lower extremity mechanics
- Landing, cutting, and sport-specific movement patterns
What You’ll Receive
Following the screening, your physical therapist will provide:
- Clear feedback on findings
- Injury risk education
- Targeted exercise recommendations
- A customized program to address deficits before the season begins
Preseason screenings are appropriate for youth, adolescent, and adult athletes across a wide range of sports.
Please note: Preseason screenings are considered injury-prevention services and are offered as a self-pay service.
