Maddie Ward
PT, DPT
Maddie earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from MGH Institute of Health Professions after completing her undergraduate degree at NYU. Her path into physical therapy was shaped by her own experience as a patient, inspiring both a deep appreciation for thoughtful, individualized care and a passion for helping others return to the activities they love.
With a background in dance and long-distance running, Maddie has a special interest in working with dancers, runners, and youth athletes. She enjoys focusing on injury prevention, return-to-sport rehabilitation, and movement education to help patients build strength and long-term resilience. Maddie values creating a welcoming, supportive environment where patients feel empowered and involved in their recovery process.
LEXI D'ABROSCA
PT, DPT
Lexi earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Texas Woman’s University before earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Northeastern University. During her time at Northeastern, Lexi performed her co-op at Girl Fit. Lexi’s training at Girl Fit and Connecticut Children’s Sports Medicine, included post-op and concussion clinics, running analysis, and Personalized Blood Flow Restriction Training.
Lexi grew up playing competitive soccer in north Texas and was a member of the Texas Women’s University’s NCAA women’s soccer team. She also has a strong background in basketball and cheerleading. Lexi is a club soccer coach in the Boston area and enjoys hiking and running in her free time.
LINDSEY SUMPMAN
PT, DPT
SCCE – Site Coordinator of Clinical Education
Lindsey earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Simmons University before continuing her education at Duke University, where she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. During her time at Simmons, Lindsey interned at Girl Fit and could not be more excited to be back as a PT.
Lindsey has experience practicing in outpatient orthopedics with a focus on sports medicine and pediatric and adolescent sports injuries, including ACL rehabilitation. Lindsey enjoys working with the post-operative population and helping her patients return to the activities and sports that they love. Lindsey also has experience working with athletes recovering from Bone Stress Injuries. In her treatments, Lindsey places an emphasis on providing well-rounded care and addressing multiple aspects of wellness. She always takes time to listen and get to know her patients, in order to help them succeed. Lindsey is well-versed in the relationship between nutrition and athletic performance, including research experience related to Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDS).
Lindsey grew up ski racing in New Jersey and throughout New England. She loves working with winter sports athletes and also has experience in dance and field hockey. Lindsey enjoys working with girls of all ages and ability levels. She aims to foster confidence and optimize potential for success throughout the rehabilitation and injury prevention process.
MADELEINE HINES
PT, DPT
Madeleine earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy and Bachelors of Rehabilitation Sciences from Northeastern University. During her time there, she spent six months of her training as a co-op student at Girl Fit and is thrilled to be back on the team a PT! Madeleine is certified in personalized blood flow restriction rehabilitation, a technique used to increase strength in patients who have had surgery, an injury, or are in pain. She has experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and loves to help every patient decrease pain, improve mobility and get back to the activities they love.
Madeleine is passionate about finding sustainable and compassionate solutions for under-served communities, and is a co-founder of the Northeastern University Physical Therapy Program Task Force for LGBTQ+ Inclusivity. Through this task force, she has designed and led trainings for faculty at Northeastern, and conducted research on knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs about gender and sexual minorities.
Madeleine has personal experience as a synchronized swimmer for ten years and is excited to bring her energy and perspective to Girl Fit.
MICHAELA MAIN
PT, DPT
Clinic Director – Newton
Orthopedic Clinical Specialist
Michaela earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees from Boston University. Since then she has been practicing in outpatient orthopedic clinics with a focus on sports medicine. She is certified in Functional Dry Needling, and is active in the performing arts medicine community in Boston, MA. She has participated in and led multiple injury prevention screens and clinics for pre professional, collegiate, and high school dancers. Michaela is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and Certified Gymnastics Medicine Medical Provider.
Michaela has danced at the professional level and continues to find new ways to move and be active. She enjoys treating adolescent athletes at all levels and educating on the importance of injury prevention. She is passionate about helping girls of all ages understand their health, and providing the care needed to achieve their goals and dreams.
